Quilting 102
Join Patti Schroeder and Deb Souders for a hands-on quilting class designed for intermediate beginners ready to build on their skills. In this workshop, you’ll create a cozy rag quilt throw (38" x 54")—perfect as a baby quilt or a soft, everyday throw.
Working step by step, Patti and Deb will guide you through the process as you construct your quilt during class, sharing helpful tips and techniques along the way. This class is ideal for those who are comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing a straight seam, but are looking to grow their confidence and skills.
Participants should bring:
- 1 cotton jelly roll (for the front)
- 3 yards of flannel (for backing)
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Good scissors or rotary cutter
- Clips or pins
Please bring your own lunch and water for the day.
This is a great next step in your quilting journey. Come ready to learn and sew, and leave with a beautiful handmade quilt in progress!
Activities are made possible in part by the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
We value inclusion and access for all participants. This class is wheelchair accessible and we are pleased to provide additional reasonable accommodations. Please contact Alexianna at alexi@traditionalartstoday.org to make a reasonable accommodation request. Requests must be submitted 2 weeks in advance of class.
