Mosaic Lazy Susan
No Experience Required to Learn the Fascinating Art of Glass Mosaics
Tuition plus cost of supplies, use of tools included.
Are you new to glass and would love to learn how to make beautiful mosaics? Or are you a glass worker with lots of remnant glass you’d like to put to use? Experienced or not, this is the class for you! It is a hands-on three-session workshop that provides basic understanding and the skills needed for creating beautiful mosaics for your home. In this class we will go over the basic tools and techniques needed to create a mosaic, as well as some tips and techniques Michele has learned along the way. Learning how to cut and nip the glass will be part of the instructions. You can expect to be introduced to substrates, adhesives, tools, the work process, and finishing options. This class will teach the basics of mosaic construction while creating a fantastic lazy susan. No art or mosaic experience is required.
Please bring these items if you have them: safety glasses, mosaic nipper, glass cutter and pliers, Weldbond or other mosaic adhesive, tweezers, Sharpie, zip lock bags for tesserae, a shallow box to transport your project.
We strongly recommend that you visit Harmony before the first day of class to choose a design and purchase your glass, or you can bring a design you create or find on your own.
Remember - creating is even more fun when you bring a friend!
Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes, and bring safety glasses if you own them.
We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony when needed for your class. By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.
