Confident Communicator: Global Citizen (6th-8th)
In this engaging camp, students learn how to research, organize, and deliver speeches on current events and global topics with limited preparation time. Campers explore a variety of important issues, learning how to identify key ideas, analyze information, and present thoughtful perspectives in a clear and structured speech.
Students will practice organizing their ideas quickly, building logical arguments, and delivering speeches that inform and engage their audience. Coaches guide campers through strategies for structuring responses, highlighting important points, and speaking with confidence even when time is limited.
How it Applies to the Real World: Campers develop strong research habits, critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate thoughtfully about real-world topics. These abilities support academic success and prepare students to participate meaningfully in discussions about current events, leadership, and civic engagement.
Deliverable: At the end of the camp, students will participate in an in-class showcase where they will receive feedback and a certificate of completion to illustrate their learning.
