Confident Communicator: I Am The Expert (4th-5th)
In this engaging camp, students will discover how to teach others about topics they care about. Campers will select a subject they are excited about—such as animals, space, sports, technology, or history and learn how to turn their knowledge into a clear and engaging presentation.
Students will work with structured research packets and guided materials that help them gather interesting facts, organize key ideas, and build a short informative speech. Coaches will help campers learn how to structure a presentation with a strong introduction, clear main points, and a memorable conclusion.
Throughout the camp, students will practice writing and explaining ideas in a way that is easy to understand while building confidence speaking in front of a group. The focus is on helping young learners feel proud of their knowledge and excited to share it with others.
How it Applies to the Real World: Students develop confidence presenting information, organizing ideas, and speaking clearly to an audience skills that support classroom presentations and academic success.
Deliverable: At the end of camp, students will deliver a 5-minute presentation during an in-class showcase and receive feedback from coaches along with a certificate of completion.
