Confident Communicator: Research Writing and Presentation Skills (6th-8th)
In this academic-focused communication camp, students will learn how to research a topic, organize their findings, and present their ideas in a clear and engaging speech. Campers will explore topics that interest them and conduct guided research to gather reliable information and supporting examples.
Students will learn how to identify credible sources, take effective notes, and organize their research into a structured presentation. Coaches will guide students through the process of outlining, writing, and refining their speeches while developing strong presentation skills.
Throughout the camp, students will practice delivering their ideas with clarity, confidence, and strong organization. Emphasis is placed on helping students communicate complex information in a way that is engaging and easy for an audience to understand.
How it Applies to the Real World: These research, writing, and presentation skills help students succeed in academic projects, classroom presentations, and future leadership opportunities where clear communication and critical thinking are essential.
Deliverable: At the end of camp, students will deliver a 5-minute informative presentation based on their research during an in-class showcase. Campers will receive personalized feedback from coaches and a certificate of completion.
