Advanced Throwing - 4 Week - Mornings
9:00am - 12:00pm
Let's level up!
Previous throwing experience is strongly recommended. Potter's must be prepared to scrap, squish and cut up their pieces in the name of learning! This class is suitable for intermediate throwers, acting as an extension from the previous class with Ed Vanderbarren (although not a prereq).
We will continuing mastering the cylinder into the formation of a mug. Learn how to throw and trim all at once, making our time on the wheel more efficient and suitable for making multiples. We will continue exploring handles.
We will also learn the mechanics of throwing a bowl, which will involve proper trimming. How do we finish it so that a bowl will speak to us, sitting up proud on a solid and aesthetic foot? There is much to consider with the humble bowl...
Students will be working larger, starting at minimum of 2kg balls of clay.
