This training session is "invite-only" and is intended only for responders within ECRC's training program.
0800 - 1600
All participants MUST have SDV-BS (MED A3) or higher to attend the training.
The Marine Strategies training will be delivered over two consecutive days and will include:
- Vessel operations (procedures, logbooks, dealing with emergencies, maneuvering, navigation, etc.)
- Seaslug Operation (deployment, towing, filling, unloading, recovery)
- Equipment handling and use (boom, skimmers, pumps, power packs)
- Safe Work Planning Cycle documentation (Responder Health & Safety, Job Safety Analysis, Field Level Risk Assessment, Guidance Documents, Tactical Operating Procedures)
- Communications
Appropriate work attire is required.
- Work clothes - pants, work shirt (long-sleeve), work jacket
- CSA approved safety boots
- General purpose work gloves
- Safety glasses
- (Optional) hardhat*
- (Optional) PFD or life jacket*
- (Optional) Hearing protection*
*Hardhats, life jackets, and hearing protection will be provided on request when applicable.
Lunch will be provided by ECRC both days. Please notify us ahead of time with any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
