Teaching @ UR Institute
This day-long institute is designed to support new faculty as they prepare for teaching at the University of Richmond. Participants will engage with a range of topics essential to their teaching roles, including effective use of classroom technology, key university policies (such as FERPA and mandatory reporting), and strategies for supporting students in academic and personal distress. The institute will also introduce approaches to course and syllabus design, lesson planning, and inclusive pedagogy. Opportunities for campus tours and collegial connection are also included.
For those who are interested in learning more about the University's new Learning Management System Canvas, we encourage you to sign up for one of our LMS Bootcamps in August: Aug. 6-7 (registration page) or Aug. 17-18 (registration page).
The institute will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Friday, August 14. Lunch is available for those who register here.
