Clients may sometimes express resistance or challenging behaviors as a response to trauma, frustration, or unmet needs. This workshop helps staff understand the underlying causes of resistance and apply empathetic, trauma-informed strategies that strengthen engagement.
Participants will learn to:
- Identify common forms of client resistance and maladaptive behaviors
- Understand the trauma-informed roots of challenging client behaviors
- Apply de-escalation and engagement strategies that reduce conflict
- Foster collaborative relationships that encourage positive behavior change
