Public Humanities Spotlight with Sarah Hearne and Bill Wagner

Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 12:00 – 2:00 PM MDT
Learning Commons, Rush Conference Room (3rd floor), 1191 Larimer Street, Denver, CO, US Map

This lunchtime session highlights two CU Denver faculty members doing public facing work. The discussion asks: How does our work connect with a broader public? How do we (or can we) integrate students into this work? Sarah Hearne, CAP, will speak about using exhibitions to open the often-exclusionary discipline of architecture to new publics. Bill Wagner in CLAS will introduce his grant-funded work on surveying public monuments in the city of Denver. Together, these humanities scholars will reflect on ways for the university to support and celebrate this kind of community engagement. Lunch provided!
