This interactive training teaches peer support specialists how to effectively share their recovery story in a way that inspires hope, builds connection, and maintains professional boundaries. Participants will learn how to structure their story, apply trauma-informed principles, and use intentional storytelling to support others in their recovery journey.
This training includes 2 CEUs and is appropriate for peer support specialists and those with lived experience in recovery.
Participants will engage in guided activities to begin crafting their own recovery story while learning best practices for ethical and person-centered sharing.
Learning Objectives:
- Define the purpose of sharing a recovery story in peer support
- Identify the key components of an effective recovery story
- Demonstrate how to structure a recovery story using a strengths-based approach
- Apply trauma-informed and ethical guidelines when sharing lived experience
