Evening With an Author:

Evening With an Author: Kate Schatz

In 1968 — pre-Roe v. Wade — 17-year-old Stanford-bound Baker was her class's valedictorian. But one night upended her plans. Instead of college, Baker moves into a home for unwed mothers. With Vietnam as the backdrop, and abortion illegal, everything old is new again.

NYT bestselling author Kate Schatz will be discussing her historic novel, Where the Girls Were, at our next "Evening with an Author" series on May 14. The story was inspired by her own mother's experience in the 1960s. For women who remember what the world was like when abortion was illegal and America was engaged in an unpopular war, the discussion will feel timely and relevant.

Kate is an activist and feminist and the NYT bestselling author of the "Rad Women" book series, as well as Do the Work: An Anti-Racist Activity Book she co-authored with Kamau Bell. Tickets for this event are limited to provide a more intimate evening for participants.
