Come and join us on this picturesque walk with a difference on the hills east of Glossop on the edge of the Peak District. We walk eastwards from the edge of Glossop along a lovely valley, then up towards the Bleaklow plateau, visiting the Shelf Stones and a couple of interesting plane wrecks on the high ground. The descent is down a track called the Doctor’s Gate.
This is a Mod + walk, of length 16km (10 miles), and ascent 700m (2300ft). There is some walking on rough ground, though most of the walk is on distinct paths.
