Open Shoot – Pistol Marksmanship (Skill Builder Session)
The Open Shoot – Pistol Marksmanship Session is designed for students looking to refine and reinforce their foundational pistol skills in a structured, instructor-led environment. This is not an introductory course, but a guided practice session focused on improving consistency, accuracy, and confidence through purposeful repetition and coaching.
Participants will work through a series of drills aimed at strengthening core fundamentals while receiving real-time feedback to correct inefficiencies and build better shooting habits.
Skills & Focus Areas:
- Reinforcement of marksmanship fundamentals (grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control)
- Accuracy and consistency at varying distances
- Controlled cadence and shot accountability
- Target transition and recoil management
- Diagnostic coaching to identify and correct shooting deficiencies
- Introduction to basic pistol optic use and zeroing (for those running optics)
This session provides a low-pressure, high-value training environment where students can sharpen their skills, ask questions, and build confidence on the range.
Who Should Attend:
- Students who have completed a Defensive Pistol Level 1 (or basic pistol training courses)
- Individuals looking to improve accuracy and consistency
- Shooters interested in learning or refining pistol optic fundamentals
Requirements:
- Handgun (medium to full-size recommended)
- Ammunition (150 rounds recommended)
- Strong-side belt holster
- 2 magazines
- Eye and ear protection
- Sturdy belt
- Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor training
