FASCIA SERIES II - ESTABLISHING THE FOUNDATION - CONNECTIVE TISSUE TECHNIQUES FOR THE LOWER BODY - 15 CE

*** Prerequisite: Fascia Fundamentals (unless you have taken classes with me in the past)

Provides insight into the functional roles the feet and ankles play in relationship to the rest of the body — our connection to the ground is fundamental to how we move and interact with gravity. Gain knowledge in understanding and treating common foot and ankle conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and injuries, and learn how dysfunction in one area creates compensatory patterns throughout the kinetic chain from feet all the way up to the pelvis — the body's center of gravity, connecting the spine to the lower body — and back down again. Discover how working with the pelvis and upper leg can relieve low back and knee pain.

Students will: 

• Explore how foot mechanics, knee alignment, and pelvic positioning create compensatory patterns that manifest as tension and pain throughout the body 
• Recognize how weight-bearing patterns and gait dysfunction contribute to chronic muscular imbalances and soft tissue restrictions 
• Learn to identify fascial tension lines and myofascial connections between the lower extremities and pelvis during hands-on assessment 
• Create integrated treatment sessions that address fascial restrictions and muscular compensation patterns throughout the kinetic chain 
• Apply hands-on techniques to release tension in key stabilizing muscles and restore balanced movement between the feet, legs, and pelvis 
• Communicate effectively with clients about how lower-body dysfunction affects their symptoms and what they can expect from treatment
