Class Description
During the year we will cover a variety of subjects that little learners will surely enjoy. In this class we read fiction and nonfiction books about each topic. We will do experiments, make crafts, write, draw, color, paint, sing, explore in centers and much more.
Some of the topics we will cover include farm animals, frogs, ladybugs, ocean life, fire safety/ firemen, weather, holidays, seasons and much more. We’ll learn about the same topic for 1-3 weeks.
While studying farm animals we will read some of my favorite fiction books like Click Clack Moo and Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Farm as well as nonfiction books. We will talk about the resources and food that farms give us. We’ll make ice-cream in a bag and butter in jars to help the children appreciate some of the wonderful things we have because of farm animals. We will compare animals that live on a farm to animals that live in the wild and in zoos. Children will also create farm themed crafts and learn farm themed songs.
Our class will have little celebrations throughout the year. For Valentines we will exchange Valentines cards and at Easter we will have a little egg hunt. We will have snacks from time to time in the class so please let me know if your child has any allergies or food concerns.
