Liberty Arts

This is open studio time, where you can come and independently co-work alongside Nanette in her metal studio for $20/hr. This fee includes standard studio overheard—flux, pickle, oxygen/acetylene gas, studio rent, utilities, etc. Consumibles such as sheet metal, wire, saw blades, solder, chain, findings etc. are available for purchase directly upon arrival, though it is highly encouraged that you bring your own if you have it.

There is a required two class minimum before you can be signed off to use the studio. Nanette will be available for safety questions etc, but this is NOT class time. If students end up requiring more assistance, they will be notified and charged at the appropriate rate for private lessons ($70/hr).

The following tools are available for use as part of the studio fee—

-oxygen acetylene torch and soldering supplies (picks, tweezers, boards etc)

-flex shaft and various attachments and burrs

-bench polisher and polishing compounds

-tumbler

-rolling mill

-bench shear

-ring sizer

-hammers

-files

-ring mandrels

-ring sizers

-saw frames

-sand casting molds

-casting torch tip

-casting ingots

**should a student damage a tool, they will be subject to a replacement fee

**there is a fair chance Nanette’s very adorable and friendly dog Arugula will be present, please notify her if that is a problem! He can always stay home if needed

**Nanette’s studio has both AC + heat depending on the season, please dress safely and appropriately
