Basic Pistol Fundamentals
This is an 8-hour course with a live fire range.
The course is designed to spend a minimum amount of time in the classroom. If you know the basic safety rules, have a basic knowledge of the operation of your firearm, have made a few trips to the range, and seek to improve your skills, this is the class for you. We will pick up where the Intro to Handguns left off. The classroom portion will review all aspects of the intro class.
We will, however, take the time to ensure those folks who did not attend the intro course are comfortable with the topics before moving to the range.
At the range, we’ll cover the full spectrum of the fundamentals, including but on limited to, manipulating your firearm. Making a safe weapon, presentation from a holster, re-holstering, loading, unloading, reloading, immediate action, and remedial action. Marksmanship is where we apply the fundamentals to put rounds down range and on target. Mindset is a critical component of defensive shooting, which we will interject throughout the day, emphasizing our ability to think through problems, issues, and threats. We won’t miss an opportunity to train.
