Audience
This course is suitable for anyone who works with children and young people and their families.
Aim
To enable all those working with children and young people and their families to gain a greater understanding of child exploitation (CE) and its impact on children and young people. The session will also introduce delegates to the Child Exploitation Risk Assessment.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the definitions relevant to child exploitation
- Understand some of the terminology and models within child exploitation
- Identify risk factors associated with children that may be at risk of exploitation
- Identify the signs and indicators for when a child may be being exploited
- Identify ways to improve practitioner’s observation, assessment and documentation of exploitation
- Increase knowledge of the local picture and resources available to support children affected by child exploitation
Course format: 3½-hour face-to-face session
