Looking to work in a licensed establishment or serve alcohol in Ontario? Smart Serve Certification is required by law for anyone who sells, serves, or delivers alcohol in the province.

Join our in‑person Smart Serve training session to learn about legal responsibilities and best practices for serving alcohol safely. The final certification exam is completed online after the in‑person session, either on campus on a scheduled exam day or from home.

About the Course:

This course is delivered in two parts:

Part 1 – In‑Person Training (Day 1):

You will attend a facilitated, in‑person session that covers all Smart Serve content using interactive activities, real-world scenarios, and discussions.

Part 2 – Online Certification Exam (Day 2 or At‑Home Option)

After completing the in‑person session, students must complete the Smart Serve Final Certification Test online. The online exam typically takes about 30 minutes to complete. Students should allow up to 60 minutes to accommodate ID verification, system checks, and the proctored testing process.

Exam completion options include:

• Option 1: Return to campus on a scheduled exam day to complete the exam in a supported environment.
• Option 2: Complete the exam at home using a personal device with internet access and a webcam.

Note: Smart Serve Certification is not issued until the online exam is successfully completed.
