CPR for children & infants, for parents and caregivers non-certificate informational workshop
This workshop is for parents and child caretakers with young children and infants at home.
This is an information informational class, with opportunity for hands on practice, skill and confidence building.
Emergencies requiring CPR can happen at home. The "First Responder" is you until official help can arrive, often 15-20 minutes later. Life saving success often depends on quick, trained, and confident response during a life threatening crisis. If these is a crisis in your family, will you know how to respond to save a loved one's life?
This class is being hosted by and at Children of the Land in Anahola, for homeschooling parents. However it is open to other parents and guardians in the community to learn about or improve their life saving CPR skills.
Topics will include child (age 2-14) and infant (under 1 year) as well as adult CPR protocol, using child and infant sized mannequins, choking and life threatening bleeding response, AED machine use may be touched on if time allows.
You will learn through lecture, question and answer, confidence building, and hands on practice during this active CPR workshop.
This is not an official Certification class, it is informational and provided for personal Ohana safety purposes. I am offering a discount of $25 for a second registration from the same household, such as a spouse, and HALF OFF for the teenage child of the parent already registered. If this applies to you, please indicate in the registration notes.
Due to the subject matter and equipment for this workshop, only participants may be present, sorry no children. Infants under 1 who aren't crawling yet may be with their parent however.
If money is an issue, please reach out to the Instructor as she personally offers partial scholarship opportunities.
A portion of the workshop fee will be donated to Garden of Eden land owner, where the class will take place.
This class will be hosted by Children of the Land at Garden of Eden in Anahola. The location will be outdoors yet held inside a shaded and enclosed canopied tent. Please bring a beach chair and or a picnic blanket to sit on during the workshop.
This is a hands on active class, wear comfortable clothing which allows you to bend kneel sit and lay down for practice portions.
No video, camera, or cell use is allowed during class.
