Intro to Watercolors
Join our Wednesday evening watercolor class. Meet great people and feel supported with our small, in-person environment.
What You'll Learn:
- How to choose paints, paper, and brushes (and why it matters)
- Essential techniques: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, and many more
- Color theory and mixing—learn to create the colors you want
- Composition basics for strong visual appeal
- Apply what you've learned to landscapes and botanical themes
- Experiment with fun techniques like salt, resist, and more
What Makes This Class Different:
- All materials provided - 5 weeks of exploration w/ a range of materials
- Fun, relaxed, judgement-free space. Art is meant to be enjoyable!
- Small class sizes - from 4 to 12 students
- No experience necessary. Whether you're brand new or you've tried watercolors before and felt disappointed, this class meets you where you are.
- Leave confident - understanding watercolor's fundamental nature, how to work with it, which supplies are worth buying, and how to keep practicing on your own.
Location: 12513 Lake City Way NE, Seattle (*Free parking is available in lot west of café. Please use the westside entrance, as café is closed to the public during class hours.)
About Your Instructor:
Janet is an artist and teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience across many mediums. Her watercolors have been selected for both local and international exhibitions. She loves to inspire a love of art in others - helping you embrace the creative process and giving you the tools to bring your vision to life. Ages 16+ welcome.
Cancellation policy:
We know life can be unpredictable and we want to be as flexible as we reasonably can. Cancellations made more than 2 weeks before the first class will be fully refunded, no questions asked. Within 2 weeks of the first class no refund is given, but you're welcome to transfer your spot to a friend. Credit towards a future class will be offered if we are able to fill your spot prior to class beginning. After the class has begun, we're unable to offer refunds or credits for missed sessions. If we cancel a class for any reason, including low enrollment, you'll receive a full refund regardless of when the cancellation occurs. For extenuating circumstances, please reach out - we'll do our best to work something out.
