This class takes the anxiety out of drawing. From fun warm-ups aimed at helping you relax - to specific techniques to help you learn to see, you'll build skills in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
Topics include:
- Mark-making, texture and the power of your materials - we'll explore a range from charcoal to pencil to ink
- Contour drawing - seeing and capturing shapes
- Gesture drawing - movement and expressiveness
- Shading and value - how to create dimension
- Perspective basics - making sense of space
All materials provided—just bring yourself and a willingness to experiment.
Location: 12513 Lake City Way NE, Seattle (*Free parking is available in lot west of café. Please use the westside entrance, as café is closed to the public during class hours.)
About Your Instructor:
Janet is an artist and teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. Her work has been selected for both local and international exhibitions. She loves to inspire a love of art in others - helping you embrace the creative process and giving you the tools to bring your vision to life. Ages 16+ welcome.
