What We'll Teach
Save a Life: Control the Bleed
Participants will learn how to control severe arterial bleeding using commercial tourniquets or improvised methods, apply compression bandages, pack wounds, and treat chest injuries.
You also get your stop the bleed certificate from the American College of Surgeons! The "Stop the Bleed" course is designed to educate individuals on how to effectively respond to bleeding emergencies. Developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), this course aims to train participants in basic bleeding control techniques that can be applied in various situations, such as accidents or disasters.
Key Learning Objectives
Participants will learn to:
Recognize life-threatening bleeding: Understand the signs and symptoms of severe bleeding.
Apply direct pressure: Use hands to control bleeding by applying pressure to the wound.
Pack a wound: Learn how to pack a wound effectively to control blood loss.
Use a tourniquet: Understand the proper application of a tourniquet to stop bleeding from extremities.
