Dance Vision Foundation — Senior Dance Classes

The Dance Vision Foundation, believes everyone deserves the joy of dancing — and we're bringing it straight to the communities that need it most. Our senior classes are rooted in a variety of dance styles, adapted so you can dance entirely on your own — no partner needed. Think of it as an upbeat, easy-to-follow movement class where familiar, beloved music guides every step. In just one hour, participants get two to three thousand steps in, burn up to 180 calories, and enjoy a genuine cardiovascular workout — all while having too much fun to notice they're exercising. But movement is only part of the story. Dancing to music you know and love is one of the most powerful things you can do for your brain — it activates memory, emotion, and rhythm all at once. Dancing is widely recognized as the number one exercise for brain health and mental well-being, shown to benefit people living with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and dementia, and to help delay the onset of cognitive decline. It's also been proven more effective than medication for managing anxiety, depression, and stress. Along the way, participants naturally improve their balance, coordination, muscle strength, and spatial awareness — and build a warm, welcoming community in the process.

Class Requirements

Participants should wear sneakers, preferably cross-trainers that do not stick to the floor. It is also recommended to bring water to stay hydrated during the workout.
