Saturday Beginner Sessions I

Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
Durham Bike Co-op, 1612 Acadia St., DURHAM, North Carolina Map

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone under 18 years old attending the shop must have a parent or legal guardian sign for their consent and NC authorization for medical treatment IN-PERSON to participate in the shop session.

Volunteers below Age 15 require a parent or guardian in attendance with them in order for participate in the shop session.

Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes to prevent injury while working in the shop. This session is NOT set up for purchasing new bikes or repairing members' personal bicycles.

Saturday morning sessions are intended as a gateway for new volunteers and membership with the Durham Bike Co-op (DBC). We will spend our time mostly taking apart old donated bicycles, recycling/sorting usable components, and/or general shop maintenance tasks.

Volunteer time spent here can help you earn a one-year membership to the DBC, and may provide participants with access into more advanced mechanic training sessions on Sundays, or to DIY shop sessions on Thursdays or other days of the week. (See event calendar for active sessions to sign up for)
