Eco Arts Week 2026 - Recycled Relief Shadow Sculpture
Students will combine natural and recycled materials to create multidimensional sculptural forms, then transform those works into a light and shadow projection. Participants are encouraged to collect and bring in sticks, leaves, seed pods, bark, and other collected natural materials to be connected together to create organic shadow patterns.
Cave Dogs Bio
Suzanne Stokes created Cave Dogs in 1991 while experimenting with spinning abstract figurative sculptures in light and shadow. Stokes’ work evolved to include dancers, costumes, props, and live sound in Fall of Perception, 1992, in the Widow Jane Mine, Rosendale, NY.
Cave Dogs principals are Suzanne Stokes and James Fossett. Collaborating members are Dillon Paul, Ted Conway, Adam Mastropaolo, Michelle Hughes, Felipa Gaudet and Alchemy Mastropaolo. Emerson Fossett is the Musical Director, Composer and Sound Designer.
We have produced and performed: Liquid States, Sure-Minded Uncertainties, Archaeology of a Storm, Ferrous City, How to Build a Raft, Emily's Circus, Sustenance, Fall of Perception, and Shadows of Doubt and Other Precarious Truths.
Cave Dogs received grants multiple grants from Arts Mid-Hudson, Franklin Furnace (NYC) and The Jim Henson Foundation (NYC). We also received a grant from The NLT Foundation (Boston, MA).

Eco Arts Week workshops are free to attend thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and funders. With limited space, workshops often fill quickly, and we appreciate advance notice of cancellations so we can offer your spot to another participant.
In the spirit of The DRAW’s commitment to access for all, donations are gratefully welcomed with a suggested contribution of $10 to help sustain this work. Click here to donate.
