Metro Detroit Burlesque Academy: Intro to SOLO PERFORMANCE
Metro Detroit Burlesque Academy’s most popular and intricate offering. An 8 week introductory course dedicated to the art of burlesque and getting on stage in a performance solo. Each participant will build their own costume and choreography to debut in a public student showcase. The aesthetic and investment put into the act is up to each individual. Participants are also provided with a professional photo package to commemorate their experience or start promoting themselves as a performer. Taught by a collective of Detroit instructors, topics covered include burlesque choreography, stage makeup, costuming and industry involvement.

The Metro Detroit Burlesque Academy (MDBA) strives to welcome all forms of artistic expression to the world of burlesque. All instructors are committed to providing a diverse education to anyone who is interested. Classes are open to anyone regardless of race, body size, sexuality, gender or disabilities. Unless otherwise indicated, prior dance or stage experience is not required.
