Learn to knit this lovely fluffy shawl that features a diagonal basketweave stitch. It’s a simple 1/1 cable cross worked on the right side and wrong side rows of work. 

The class takes place over four sessions. In the first session, we’ll cover the ribbed tabbed CO, how to knit a 1/1 cable and shape the work with increases along one edge. The next two sessions will allow for ample time to knit through the increase section, and the middle section, and address any issues that may come up in the process of knitting. In either the end of the third session or start of the fourth session, we’ll go over how to shape the decrease section.

Skill Level: familiar with the basics in knitting (k, p, CO, BO).

Materials Required:

ARAN WEIGHT YARN: 6 skeins CaMaRose Snefnug or equivalent yarn.

NEEDLES: US 10.5 / 6.5 mm, 40” / 100 cm long circular needles. 

ADDITIONAL NOTIONS: cable needle or a DPN (in the same size needle you are using to knit the shawl), blunt tipped tapestry needle, scissors.

Homework: Please arrive prepared for the class with all REQUIRED MATERIALS and a copy (either printed or a digital copy) of the pattern.
