Slow down, get your hands in clay, and experience the transformative process of Raku firing. In this 4-week series let by artist and mindfulness practitioner Gabriel Parque, you’ll create work each week and participate in live firings beginning in week two, watching your pieces move from clay to flame to finished form in a matter of hours.

This class blends hands-on ceramics with mindfulness practices to help you stay present through each stage of the process. Raku is unpredictable by nature, and we’ll use that as an opportunity to explore letting go, embracing imperfection, and working with, rather than against, the moment.

No prior experience is needed. You’ll be guided through approachable pottery wheel and handbuilding techniques and supported throughout the firing process. By the end of the series, you’ll have several finished pieces and a deeper connection to both the creative process and the material itself.
