Adirondack Mountain Club

About a half hour north of Paul Smith's College is the launch onto Lower St. Regis at Keese Mills. This arm leads to Lower St. Regis Lake and then onto Spitfire Lake. The latter has many fine waterfront homes. In winter with favorable ice the lake hosts iceboat sailing and racing. We will return to the launch with four hours planned on the water. In the (unlikely) event of strong winds from the river launch, an alternative of similar duration is a paddle on Long Pond and Black Pond.
