Adirondack Mountain Club

Topics will include:

• What is ultralight backpacking?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages?
• Who can benefit?
• How can someone achieve a lighter pack weight and remain safe and comfortable?
• How can you make the best gear decisions for your personal priorities, style of backpacking, and trip plan?

We'll compare different styles of tents, backpacks, sleep systems, cook systems, etc. Participants are invited to bring their own backpacking kit (optional) for a more interactive discussion and show-and-tell. No prior backpacking experience is needed.
