Guided Computer Lab Projects

Maximum Students: 4 to 8 (see description)

Duration: Up to 4 hrs

Prerequisites: None

Want to edit a design or 3D model and don’t know where to start? Do you have an idea for a graphic to be laser cut, sent to the CNC, or pressed in vinyl?

This is your chance to get another set of eyes on your work and help you learn the tools of the trade. From digital art to CAD, Alexis is an all-around expert in all things computer creativity. Surely there's nothing she can't help you with... and if you do stump her, she'll be right there to figure it out with you!

Please bring any existing digital projects that you want to work on with you on a thumbdrive. Or just bring your ideas or sketches!

This class uses four PC workstations, which are reserved for the first four members who enroll. If you can bring your own laptop, you do not need to enroll - you may come in anytime during class hours for assistance. The instructor will spend time with each participant as needed to guide them on their individual projects.

Practices and tools you can find help on include (but are not limited to):

  • Photo editing, digital art, and graphic design in Adobe Suite and Affinity Studio
  • 3D model creation and editing or CAM in Blender and OnShape
  • Video editing in DaVinci Resolve and Vegas Pro
  • Programming and game design across several common languages including the Godot game engine

You must be a member of Rochester Makerspace to attend.
