Audience

This workshop is suitable for any professionals who are working with complexity in relation to adults at risk in Jersey.

Aim

The training session will introduce elements of our new self-neglect guidance.

  • Establishing that self-neglect is a category of abuse.
  • Recognising that people at risk of self-neglect require longer term relationship-based support.
  • Highlighting the differences and similarities between self-neglect and hoarding.
  • Understanding how chronic disorganisation may look like hoarding.
  • Recognising how the impact of trauma and life experiences impact on people and their decision making.

Course format: Two-hour face-to-face session
