Training for Teaching Speaking & Listening

How can teachers get their students to practise using more spoken English in class while developing their language skills effectively? This module teaches participants how to expand speaking activities by using focused practise where interaction is critical. As with all our modules, mini lessons provide the opportunity for trainees to consolidate what has been learned.

The module is taught by experienced language teacher trainers (TEFL, TESOL etc) and takes approximately 30 hours, which includes teaching sessions, group discussions, materials development and presentations or mini-lessons. There are also homework assignments.

Modules are suitable for those with a good knowledge of English and some experience of teaching.

The module consists of 6 x four-hour sessions in addition to feedback, lesson observation and individual evaluation.

N.B. The teaching language of this module will be English. If you wish to improve your English then you can take the English Language Primer

All participants will receive an attendance certificate for completing the module, but those who show progress during presentations and mini-lessons are awarded a certificate stating that they have demonstrated significant teaching skills. For those who complete all four modules, in any order and demonstrating progress, a CSLT certificate will be awarded.
