Obeya Builder
Obeya Builder
Design and create powerful visual management spaces
The Obeya Builder certification gives you the practical skill to create an Obeya that works. You learn to translate organisational strategy into a visual system that drives performance and enables better decisions.
Is this for you?
You will get the most from this class if you are:
- A certified Obeya Fundamentals practitioner ready for the next step
- Responsible for implementing visual management in your organisation
- A change agent, Lean professional or Agile coach improving how decisions get made
- Structuring organisational information and data for other people to act on
This is probably not for you if your challenge is the conversation in the room rather than the content on the walls. Obeya Host addresses that.
What’s in your way right now
- Your Obeya holds a lot of information and no one can tell what needs attention
- The data you need has no owner, or three owners who disagree
- The boards look impressive and change nobody’s behaviour
- You built it once, and it has not evolved since
Just imagine
Standing in a room you designed and watching a leadership team spot a problem before you point at it. Information organised so tightly that the trade-off is obvious. A structure that survives the quarter it was built in.
What you’ll be able to do
- Design a structured physical or digital Obeya
- Organise information around purpose and objectives
- Apply visual management principles that reduce noise
- Connect strategy to execution with OKRs, Hoshin Kanri and the X-Matrix
- Build performance dialogue into the structure using SPQCD and meaningful KPIs
- Establish clear ownership of information and data
What happens in the class
Two days following the PDCA cycle. Plan: purpose and True North, voice of the customer, personas and journeys, OKRs, Hoshin Kanri and the X-Matrix. Do: value stream mapping, portfolio management, roadmaps, capacity. Check: SPQCD and KPI design. Act: A3, Kaizen, Kanban, rhythm and routines. Throughout, the 11 Obeya Principles and the four quadrants give you the design criteria.
