FROM POWER STRUGGLES TO PARTNERSHIP: REFRAMING BEHAVIOR THROUGH FUNCTION, TRUST AND INFLUENCE

*Act 48 Eligible - Please be sure to bring your PPID Number for the sign in sheet.

This professional development session helps educators reframe classroom power struggles by viewing behavior as communication rather than noncompliance.

Participants will explore how teacher responses, classroom structures, and communication patterns can either escalate or de-escalate student behavior, while learning practical strategies grounded in functional behavior thinking, instructional design, and relationship-building. Through reflection, simulations, and application activities, educators will develop proactive approaches that reduce conflict, strengthen student trust, and support inclusive learning environments for all students.

Aligned with MTSS, UDL, and the Danielson Framework, this session provides immediately applicable tools to improve classroom management, increase engagement, and create calmer, more connected classrooms.
