BEHAVIOR BY DESIGN: FUNCTION-BASED SUPPORT FOR ALL LEARNERS INCLUDING STUDENTS WITH AUTISM
*Act 48 Eligible - Please be sure to bring your PPID Number for the sign in sheet.
This professional development session helps educators understand and support student behavior through a practical, function-based framework with a focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental differences.
Participants will explore how behavior serves a purpose, learn to identify underlying functions such as attention, escape, access, and sensory regulation, and examine how communication and sensory differences impact classroom behavior. Through reflection, application, and functional intervention design, educators will develop proactive strategies that reduce escalation, strengthen inclusion, and support student success.
Aligned with MTSS, UDL, and the Danielson Framework, this session provides actionable tools for creating structured, responsive, and supportive learning environments for all students.
