Carve, Print, Glow - Two-Day Blockwood Carving & Printing Course
Two-Day block-wood carving & printed fabric Lampshade Course
Join us for an inspiring two-day workshop where you’ll start by carving your own wood block, print fabric with it and transform the fabric into a beautifully printed lampshade for your home. Perfect for beginners and creatives alike, this course offers a satisfying, hands-on journey from raw wood to a finished, design-led piece for your home.
Day One – Wood Block Carving with William Barsley
Spend the day at Orchard Carving Studio with master carver William. You’ll be introduced to essential tools and techniques, learning how to design and carve your own wooden block. With guidance and support, you’ll create a unique hand-carved block ready for printing onto fabric. You will go home with this block too.
Day Two – Fabric Printing & Drum Lampshade Making with Tracy Johnson and Saj Collyer (Go Deer)
On day two, bring your carved design to life through fabric printing with Tracy. You’ll explore textile inks and repeat pattern techniques and print your design onto fabric to create your own bespoke material.
In the afternoon, Saj will guide you through turning your hand-printed fabric into a drum lampshade. You’ll learn how to construct and finish your shade using professional techniques, leaving with a striking, functional piece that showcases your design from carving to final creation.
What's included?
- All materials and tools needed for the course
