TITLE: The Hours Between (A Planet Ant Farm Team Original One-Act Drama)

ABOUT THE PLAY: In the cold, liminal space of a hospital waiting room, 3 women wrestle with the unknown as they await life-or-death news from their loved ones. How do we live in these moments, under mortality's gaze? How can we stand with one another and refuse to look away?

AUDITION INFORMATION:

• Date: Saturday, May 16th
• Time: 3 - 8 PM (sign up for a time slot!)
• Location: Planet Ant Studio | 11831 Joseph Campau Ave Hamtramck, MI
• Preparation: Please be prepared for a cold reading (sides provided). Actors must be comfortable working with children.

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Rehearsals: Approx. 14 rehearsals May - July (mostly Sundays and Tuesdays)
• Tech and Dress Rehearsal (required): 7/12 and 7/15 (afternoon)
• Performance Run: July 17 – August 1, 2026 (3 consecutive weekends).
• Showtimes: Fridays & Saturdays at 8 PM; Sundays at 3 PM.

SEEKING:

• BETH (F, 20s-30s) - A high-achieving lawyer from New York who has built her life around success only to find herself profoundly lonely.
• SOPHIE - (F, 20s-30s) - A young mother who has learned to survive by going quiet, but barely holding together underneath.
• OLIVER (M, around 8-13 years old) - Sophie's son. Perceptive far beyond his years. *For this role, age is flexible. Feel free to audition even if you don’t fit the exact age range.
• GLORIA (F, 50s-60s+) - The warm, steady presence the waiting room orbits around, all while holding onto a profound private secret of her own. *For this role, age is flexible. Feel free to audition even if you don’t fit the exact age range.
• RECEPTIONIST (any age/gender) - The calm, professional anchor of the waiting room.
