Fiber Arts Fusion: Pigments & Patterns
Join us for an inspiring blend of fiber arts techniques that captures your connection to nature through color, texture, and design. We’ll create a natural dye bath and experiment with a variety of natural fabrics, using dye assists to explore a range of beautiful color variations. Explore the timeless art of Cyanotype printing, a photographic process that uses UV light to create striking blue images. Working with botanicals and handmade stencils, you’ll produce distinctive textile prints that blend nature, art, and science.
Cool off with the magic of ice dyeing, where melting ice carries vibrant dyes through fabric to create organic patterns, soft color blends, and dreamy watercolor-like effects. Explore Tataki Zome, a traditional Japanese technique that transfers the natural pigments of flowers and leaves directly onto fabric to create beautiful botanical prints. We'll also weave in Shibori, a Japanese resist-dyeing method that uses folding, twisting, binding, and knotting to produce distinctive patterns and reveal unique color variations. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a vibrant collection of nature-inspired textiles. All levels/Materials included, Adults
