ECO Navigator Training

This training is designed for non-attorneys seeking accreditation to become ECO Navigators. Individuals must attend both training days and participate in all 5 modules. Individuals must also pass a final exam with at least 80 points. This training will be in English and will be presented through Zoom (link will be sent the week before the training).
Day 1: Monday, May 18th from 8:30am to 1:30pm
- Module 1 - Accessing and Using ECO: Individuals will learn about the Equity Corps of Oregon program, including eligibility requirements, how to enroll, participant journey, and the role of an ECO navigator.
- Module 2 - Core Knowledge General: Immigration Removal Proceedings: Individuals will learn about removal proceedings in the United States, focusing on a defensive asylum timeline.
- Module 3 - Documents 101: Individuals will learn about the various immigration documents an individual may receive while in removal proceedings as well as the importance of collecting them for ECO navigations.
Day 2: Tuesday, May 19th from 8:30am to 1:30pm
- Module 4 - Trauma Informed Interviewing: Individuals will learn about Trauma Informed Care (TIC) and best practices for trauma-informed interviewing.
- Module 5 - Navigation Practice: Individuals will learn how to use the Oregon Worker Relief (OWR) portal to create ECO referrals and submit ECO navigations.
