Raquette River Paddling Adventure
Health insurance is required to participate in the program.

This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation.

This program is a guided paddling trip on the Raquette River from Axton Landing to the Crusher. This is a 9-mile section of section of river that is flat, moving water, so there are no rapids. Typical late-summer water levels keep the downstream flow of the river through this section low, so paddling speed is comparable to lake and pond paddling. Be prepared for the possibility of higher, swifter moving water if there are significant rainstorms leading up to this trip. Be ready for a long day and tired arms. Please plan on meeting in the hamlet of Coreys at the intersection of Route 3 and Coreys Road by 7:30am. Please arrive packed and ready to paddle. After caravanning to the put-in, we’ll go through group introductions and a trip overview before pushing off downriver. We will be shuttled back to our cars at Axton Landing from the Crusher to end the trip. This trip will be led by ADK’s Education Department staff.

Prior paddling experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must. ADK will provide canoes, PFD’s, and paddles. Please reach out to your guide in advance if you would like to use your own paddling equipment.

*ADK cannot guarantee a time the guided trip will be completed by.*
