The International Certificate of Competency (ICC) is an internationally recognised certificate that confirms the holder’s competence to operate a pleasure craft for recreational use. Established under Resolution No. 40 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the ICC is widely accepted throughout Europe and is often required when chartering or operating boats abroad.

At Powerboat Cork, we offer ICC Assessments for experienced powerboat operators who wish to obtain this certification through Irish Sailing, the issuing authority in Ireland on behalf of the Irish Government.

Our assessment is designed for competent boaters who can demonstrate practical boat handling skills, knowledge of navigation, safety procedures, collision regulations, and responsible seamanship. Successful candidates can apply for their ICC certificate through Irish Sailing.
