Vaea Dang

This is a 2-hour introduction to slow stitching, inspired by Sashiko — a traditional Japanese practice rooted in repair, repetition, and attention.

This workshop is about learning a simple gesture and letting it repeat — stitch after stitch — until a pattern begins to appear.

You’ll work on a small fabric panel, learning how to transfer a pattern and build it through hand stitching. Everyone will leave with their own piece, something quiet and personal.

As with my drawing and journaling workshops, the focus is on observation, rhythm, and slowing down. This is simply another way of making marks — with thread instead of ink.

All materials are provided. No experience needed.
