Discover the Art of Shibori while learning the fundamentals of this traditional Japanese fabric dyeing method. Create custom-dyed pieces as you explore a variety of resist-dyeing techniques using natural fabrics. Fold, twist, knot, and shape fabric to produce original designs. Learn the Arashi method (wrapping cloth around a pole) to create flowing striped patterns, and Itajime, a folding and clamping technique that uses wooden blocks to create bold geometric patterns. Each piece reveals an exciting element of mystery and surprise as you unfold your fabric and discover the stunning patterns created through the dyeing process. Each participant will dye a variety of 4 pieces. All levels/Adults & Teens 14+
