Come experience the remarkable underground world of caves where science and history meet! Earth science, geology, chemistry, biology, geography—there’s something for every adventurer! Cave Explorers will engage a variety of students’ learning styles through visual, reading/writing, auditory, and hands-on activities. Age and stage will be considered and opportunities given for both independent and interpersonal learning. Weekly topics include cave formation, types of caves, cave zones, cave-mapping, the unique ecosystem of caves, cave creatures, spelunking, famous scientists and their cave discoveries, and cave conservation and safety. Each student will create their own cave diorama, so we are collecting shoe boxes for Week 5. Please donate any you may have for this fun project!
