Weekend Textile & Fibre Making Workshop
Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th June 2026
10am to 4pm
Join us for a two day textile and fibre making weekend with the shared goal of creating individual or collaborative works that will be exhibited at our upcoming Matariki ki Au exhibition. The exhibition opens on the 3rd of July 2026.
This is a self directed weekend where you will thrive with others as they work towards designing and creating their finished pieces.
- This workshop is about making together: working side by side in a supportive, creative environment where ideas are shared, inspiration flows, and participants encourage one another through the making process.
- NGĀ ART staff will be present throughout the weekend to support you, offer guidance, problem‑solving, and creative encouragement.
- This is a bring‑your‑own‑resources workshop, with access to a small selection of shared materials including fabric ends, fibres, fabric paints and shared tools. Sewing machines will be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own machine if they have one. Hand stitching is fully supported.
- All experience levels are welcome. If you enjoy working with textiles, fabric, fibre, or surface design - this weekend is for you.
Bring a plate for a shared lunch and afternoon tea.
This is a FREE workshop.
