Welding 101; Scrap Sculptures

Welding 101; Scrap Sculptures

Welding 101; Scrap Sculptures is a beginner-friendly introduction to MIG welding through creative metalworking. This single-session class teaches the “quick and gritty” basics of welding, fabrication, and safe tool use in an approachable studio environment. It is especially well suited for artists interested in incorporating metal and fabricated materials into their personal body of work.

Students will learn basic machine setup, weld control, and how to safely join metal while creating their own small scrap metal sculpture from a curated selection of studio materials. Light plasma cutting may be introduced depending on time and project needs.

This class also serves as an entry point into Welding Studio 102 and 103 for students interested in continuing their training.
