STEM East: STEM Schools of Distinction (Level 1)
This STEM East planning workshop is designed to assist schools from member school districts interested in working towards and applying for the STEM School of Distinction (SSoD) designation. This workshop will begin with a self-assessment based on the STEM School of Distinction progress rubric. Our expert facilitators will answer questions and provide insight into gathering a team, creating a plan, and preparing your school for an application. It will connect you with the STEM East regional support network of STEM schools that have chosen to work towards this impactful Department of Public Instruction designation: STEM School of Distinction.
This is our entry-level course that introduces the STEM progress rubric, school team organization, STEM instructional practices, and how to engage staff and your community. It is for schools exploring the prospect of applying for SSoD or having difficulties self-launching their school toward a collaborative approach. If, however, you are already deep in management of your school's application or are seeking assistance with recertification, you should consider our Level 2 workshop. If unsure, fill out either application, and we can transfer you between them as needed. As always, email the workshop contact if you have any questions.
This event is designed for schools and school districts that are members of the STEM East Network.
You must use your school district email address when applying to attend this event.
